Desabar to Collapse
Marina Dubia (BR/DK)
The performance seeks to generate a space of affective charge that tethers on the edge of aggression, joy, and their mutual transformations. Desabar means to collapse in Portuguese, and desabar is all around us.
Bones collapse, affections shatter and relations overflow. Hello world. How did we get here? In the detail of you-with-me: these violent afflictions, everyday pulse, everyday disgrace, what have I got to do with it? Make way, brace, pace, train your /self/, give it up: are we still together now? In Desabar to Collapse, performers express personal engagements to everyday violence in a challenging and intimate piece with a celebratory twist: can we move through strong emotional expression while keeping spirits high? Fall over, release!
The performance premiered at Overgaden during Art Week Copenhagen 2023.
