TENDER
Beyond Darkness (DK)

Duration: 60 minutes. Age: Minimum 14 years. The installation is open an hour after the performance.

TENDER is a choreographic performance and installation by the performance duo Beyond Darkness created in close collaboration with the visual artist duo Baum & Leahy. It is a sensory experience centered around care, tactility and vibration that opens a space for social communities and encounters in multispecies kinship. TENDER invites you to take place with three performers in a multisensory scenography, where you will encounter smaller ecosystems of natural elements such as grass, water, soil and seeds. In a dance of tenderness, we explore the giving and receiving of care and practice together attending to what lacks care in ourselves and our surroundings, human and as well as non-human.

ABOUT BEYOND DARKNESS
Beyond Darkness is the artistic cosmos of choreographer Nanna Hanfgarn Jensen and director-dramaturg Nadja Mattioli. Together, they create highly sensorial and experiential realms through immersive performances and ecocentric installations. They view their works as ecosystems in which new human and beyond human perspectives, lives and relationships are explored.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE CURATORIAL BACKGROUND FROM THE CURATORIAL TEAM OF SELECTED WORKS FESTIVAL 2025:
"The exploration of care as a theme, both in giving and receiving, and how the performance encourages the audience to approach these aspects in an engaging way."
